Do not bring your vehicle here. Quoted me $350 to change my block heater, then called back an hour later saying it would be $700, unless I wanted an oil pan heater for $350 instead. Long story short, it was $170 fix through a different shop. They work on commission here, beware.
Hi Cole. Again I do apologize like I did when I called you to explain that I had personally made an error when I provided you the initial quote over the phone before seeing the vehicle. Originally you had suspected your vehicle had the 4 cylinder engine, upon getting the vehicle and the VIN number we discovered it had the 6 cylinder engine, which as per the service manual suggested the exhaust required removal to complete the block heater replacement which would take longer than what was quoted to you. As soon as we determined this we stopped the repair to contact you and explain the cost difference and the situation we were facing. Due to this we also wanted to provide a quote for an oil pan heater as an alternative option that would cost less money but still be effective. We always keep our customers informed of any price changes as we did with you prior to completing the repairs and then giving the customer an unexpected higher bill. I understand that you explained that you often find this happens during your car repairs at other places, but this is not our common practice and absolutely none of our service or technician staff are paid on commission. I am not sure where you may have gotten your information to suggest that. I respect that you found somewhere cheaper to perform the repair for you. We use the industry standard labour guide to estimate all of our repairs, and when we find that we are able to complete repairs in a more efficient manner we always pass those benefits onto our customers. I am sorry that we were not able to satisfy you as a customer in this circumstance, but all we can do is be honest with our customers and communicate any issues found to them in order to keep them in control of their money. To suggest that no one should come to our family business based on this circumstance is disheartening and I would appreciate the chance to discuss this further with you to see if there is a way that I can make things right in your eyes.
